I am currently half way through building ekiga 3 on kde 8.04. Some issues
with the Makefiles to be resolved. Can we talk about this in advance..? I
have build the opal and ptlib successfully.
Thanks,

Hi Boris :)
Pliant looks interesting :)
We at the BerkeleyTIP global monthly meeting are working toward having
remote persons give talks for the meeting. We've already successfully
used a VOIP conference server for several months, & have had attendees
from NorthCarolina, Michigan, Washington State & Hawaii.
This month we might have a talk about Ekiga 3 given from India.
Where in the world are you? Do you have VOIP capability?
I'd suggest you join the BTIP mailing list & say "Hi", & tell us your
thoughts on what you could cover in your P talk.
Maybe we could start with a 5 minute mini talk this Feb 7, just so we
all can better get the feel of doing live talks. :)
We don't yet have a procedure for showing slides, or live computer
output, but that will come in time.
I hope to hear from you on the BTIP list! :)

Hi Adam, & anyone interested in this :)
I invite
1) you to make a 5-10 min presentation about your project to
the BerkeleyTIP-Global meeting, Jan 7 Saturday, via VOIP.
2) All your groups memebers to join in the global BTIP meeting via
VOIP.
We are a monthly global (via VOIP) meeting about GNU(Linux) & BSD &
all
free sw & culture, so your effort fits right in. :)

Click "join this group" on the page rhs to get on the mailing list.
I'll mention about your event on the 10-20 announcements I send out
about BTIP, so that might get you some more exposure, & perhaps
volunteers. :)
I'll pass it on to a UCB CS professor, who is interested in education
related topics. :)
Is there anyone in your group who might like to give a short, 5-10 min
talk about what you all are doing? Maybe just before 12N pacific
time =
< 3P Eastern?

Our first text book is the wonderful Digital Foundations book
produced
by Michael Mandiberg and Xtine Burrough

software by teaching design. The current toolset it uses is the Adobe
Creative Suite and we will convert these examples entirely to using
free
software.
FLOSSIFY 1 : Digital Foundations will focus on a fun 3 day event at
Eyebeam, NYC. Anyone is welcome to attend and some food and beer
