[Ekiga-list] delay issue

Hi,
Recently I use Ekiga pretty often. I found the delay feels a little long to make caller and caller feel very obvious. Are there any methods/parameters to adjust to limit the delay?

When Ekiga is working , there is some status on the bottom line, such as "A 8.0/7.5....". What does it mean?
