Re: [Ekiga-list] Re Ekiga feedback

Hi Michael and others,

I tried this new Windows pre-release of ekiga(3.2.pre6-release.exe) and found:

1) By default the first time you run ekiga (I mean run ekiga just after you install it) the volume setting of the speaker comes in mute so you cannot hear anything.

But after the first time, ekiga remembers the volume level you changed. So the problem is mostrly solved. Suggestion is changing the default volume setting to a higer level so the user can use ekiga for the first time withot having to raise the volume of the speaker.

2, 3, 4) I couldn't try this exaustevely again nor tell you the exact codecs the caller and calle have. But sometimes I don't know why it uses CELT, even thoug we have speex in the top of the list. The next time I can try it, I'll get this information.

NEW_ONE) I tried to call ekiga echo test several times just after I've done a call and sometimes it happens I cannot hear anything. But atention, this is not the same problem as problem 1) because is like if ekiga does not recognize the speaker because it does not let me to acces to the volume setting(this button appears but you cannot press it) so I suspect this is not the problem that the volume has to be raised.

I know you want the windows debbugin but I don't kwnow how to do get ir. If someone could kindly tell me how, I will.

"From the command line DOS type ......... "

Thanks for making ekiga a good VoIp!,

Hernán.
