And it just wastes resources if someone who could be improving EasyTAG
instead wastes their time trying to get it to build under Windows for

I can see this two ways:
1. Windows should be supported, to educate / convert the ignorant; or
2. Windows should not be supported, as that encourages people who know better but insist on still using it, to perpetuate its use, and continue to drain away the resources of the community.
