Note in my last mailing list msg the script lines wrap incorrectly b/c too long.
Python is sensitive to that so make sure you re-join the long line that starts with "print root+..."
Just noticed that in the archive. This script does work and is quite fast.

Sounds like it's picking up the ID3v1 tag.
Try disabling the option to write ID3v1 tags in the ID3 tags settings.
You probably have to strip files you've already tagged with ID3v1.
