Cairo context and Dia

Hi,

So, I'm trying to refactor the pdf plugin to support the glib api of poppler. The api allows to render, but it requires a cairo context, which I cannot find how to. Where should I begin? simply searching "cairo" in the repository doesn't yield relevant results.
