Re: Dia in Windows 8.1

I just downloaded and installed DIA on a windows 8.1 Surface pro.

Windows 8.1 is a little bit split brained in that they created two parts out of the old desktop.
The 1st is the new start screen with the small squares and rectangles for the app's.
The second is a very stripped down version of the old desktop. It does not have a start button.and does not have icons for all programs ...

There is a method from the start screen to see a set of icons for all the apps.
Just go to the far right of the start screen. on the bottom should be a small arrow in a circle pointing down.
Tap or click on this and one will find the dia icon.
Tapping or clicking on this starts up the dia program on the older stripped down desktop.

You also swipe in from the upper right side of the screen. then fill in dia for the search arg.
This will also display the dia icon which can be tapped or clicked to start dia.

The dia icon can be added to the start screen to make it easier to find.

The one interesting thing, was that on the list of all apps, besides the dia icon there was one for dia faq, and four for dia help and four for dia pdf.

dia --integrated

Which is quite clearly written in the `dia --help'...

Maybe there should be a shortcut for that, or a menu entry? Most of the windows users have no idea how to pass parameters to a program.
