Re: PS issues

The following would be a *nasty* hack, and I wouldn't be surprised
Lars, if you don't like it:

As an interim solution for people who need to modify the PS text
for whatever reason, a startup flag (say -psfonts) could be added,
that would make DIA save text using PS fonts, regardless of the
fact that it might look all wrong. Then, in the future releases,
the flag could remain for backwards compatibility, with no
effect.

If we weren't at the very end of a release cycle, I might do that. Right
now, I just want 0.92 to come out in a usable state.

I'd love to take a look, but as soon as I get time, I'd want to
work on the line renderer (apropos the post I made a few days
ago).

The line gap stuff? I think it's the wave of the future, but it's such a
change in basic functionality of Dia that it won't be easy.

Anyhow, just a (kludge of a) suggestion.

I'm currently waiting for the outcome of two (!) job interviews. If I get
either, I will have little time for Dia until after Christmas. Otherwise,
there will be periods in November and December where I have more time than
now, and in that case, I expect to make a new release around new years,
with these kinds of improvements, if not the whole text revamp I've been
threatening to do for a while now. If I do get a job, I may take what
little spare time I have to do hacks like the above.
