Current text entry is really bad.

IMHO, the text should be accepted on:
- ENTER key (Shift-ENTER for newline ?)
that seems fine to me.
- changing focus (by TAB or mouse etc) and maybe switching application too
I do not know if you will receive notification from the WM that the
application has been switched with alt-tab, and IMHO, text should not be
entered if you switch out of the application temporarily-- what happens if I
am cutting and pasting something? I suppose that if other applications do
this, then I am fine with it.
- clicking anywhere outside of the text view
agreed.
ESC could undo editing.
also agreed.
