I've been playing around with GNOME Music recently. This app is
*really* nice --
and I'm nearly ready to switch to it from Rhythmbox.
I see just a few problems:
* There's often a small delay when opening it before music appears. Not
a big
deal, but the entire UI is blank during this time, which is a big
deal. It
needs to show a spinner until it's ready.
* There's a horrible hang the first time I run the app, I guess while
it's
indexing. That needs to not hang the UI thread. I know Python has a
GIL, but
a GIL doesn't mean you're stuck with unresponsive UI.
* There's no way to shuffle through my entire library. This is almost
always how
I use Rhythmbox, so I won't switch to GNOME Music until that's
possible.
I wrote a quick patch to add an All Music playlist, but I can't test
it
because of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=759751
Anyone want to help fix these?
Michael
