The problem is that there are modules in gnome-apps, like babl, that are not apps, but just dependencies of other modules in gnome-apps. (It's a bit confusing but that is how it's designed to work.) It would make no sense to mark them as apps in the doap. I think Sebastien had the right idea to just not give it any category.
