When a password has been set, maybe widgets and the password entry
could be presented in the same view, rather than requiring the extra
step of "lifting the curtain". I understand that typing the password
directly would work, but there is no affordance in the proposed UI
that indicates so.
In a system where the password has not been set, this "courtain" adds
an extra step between unblanking the screen and actually returning to
work. This makes sense in a touch device to prevent accidental input,
but in a desktop I am afraid that it would just get in the way of the
user.
(It might be that I am not understanding the proposed interaction
correctly, apologies if that's the case)
