Fair enough. I'm just asking how it got into glib and GTK+ with those
warts and limitations...

Can we expect all this to be sorted by the time 3.0 is released? Are we
going to have a flag day when the old API is gone, and the new one done?
I would hate to have to port my apps back to libunique, to then port
them to the new GApplication.
Finally, how does that impact GtkApplication?
