yes. KVM actually supports virtualization of OpenGL much better than VB
and VMWare.

the Moblin netbook UI, which is written using the same components (minus
JavaScript) as the GNOME Shell is routinely tested under VirtualBox and
KVM. unfortunately, VMWare only supports pass-through of DirectX calls,
and only on nVidia hardware, as far as I remember - but VMWare
developers can correct me if I'm wrong.
