Audio profiles are profiles for sound conversion/extraction/capturing.
They store the settings for your preference of how to capture audio,
fronting it with descriptions that make sense.

Thus "Lossy CD Quality" is your pick of a perceptual codec with a given
set of settings, defaulting to Ogg/Vorbis at a decent quality level.
But if you choose to you can set it to mp3.
