This is what my concern is. That is why I am SO lost at this point:)
The BAD thing is that these layout names are just some weird (unsystematic,
historical) english abbrevations. They would be difficult to localize (they
should be I guess). So I would prefer to leave them as IDs and NEVER show to the
user.

Well, I thought about it - but this sounds like some extra hassle which I am not
sure I want to have:) Since Murray thinks it is not a problem (well, I can
believe it is not - for 2-letter representaion) - I would prefer to avoid it.
