Re: CD burning in gnome

Okay, so I borrowed my roommates OS X laptop (those things are sweet) so
that I could add the ui experience to the discussion. I'm not saying
it's the best way, I'm just reporting the way it is on OS X. However, I
do like it.

When I insert a blank CD-R(W), a dialog pops up:

You have inserted a blank CD-R(W).
	Do you want to:
		(a) Open a file manager window.
		(b) Start standard burn application.
		(c) Start other application.

If you choose (b), the file manager (finder in OS X case, nautilus in
our case) does not see the CD-R(W), only the burn application sees it.

If you choose (a), an icon appears on the destop. It's a special one for
CD-R(W) (basically the CD icon but a CDR or CDRW text on it). with
"untitled CD" as the label. Plus a file-manager window opens.

Now here's the part we were unsure off. When I drag files into the
file-manager window, it _makes_ _copies_ of the files. I guess it
created some sort of virtual folder for the CDR on the hard-drive and
makes copies of the file there. So i can delete/modify the originals,
and the files in the virtual drive remain. Then, I can either choose
burn from the file-manger menu (or right click the CDR icon), or choose
eject, and it asks "burn first?". If i say yes, it launches a burn
dialog and starts burning immediately.

Cheers,
Loban
