I took the liberty of CCing deskbar-applet-devel, I hope you don't mind Raph.

I think the answer to this one is quite obvious. Fix the bugs :)
Why didn't *I* think of that?!?!?!111one
As far as I can tell most of the bugs are related to the global
keyboard shortcut.
1) The entry is confusing (people expect to type the '<Shitft>bla'
stuff, and not hit the correct keypress.
2) The old shortcut isn't released, so if you get hit by 1, then you
cannot use your keyboard anymore
I suggest to revert to old behavior of typing the whole sequence
manually until we figure out 2. And apply the setting only when
closing the pref dialog. Before the next 2.16
release.
I'm not sure that it is the keyboard shortcut in the majority of the bugs (it has a non-neglible part though). Most a re random crashes with little or no description. Just a stack trace (often without degugging symbols).
For the other bugs i haven't looked yet, but the most common should
be fixed. I don't think we have unfixable bugs really.
I think we can be able to fix anything, but I'm just exhausted by merely looking at my deskbar bugs folder. Also, fixing the bugs in question does not prevent us from having 200/bugs/day at some later point.
By the way, we missed the 2.16.1 Released which sucks. Unfortunately
I got absorbed by my university duties and wasn't able to do anything
on deskbar.
I've been quite hung up to lately. When I finally seemed to have a wee bit of time I got sick! :-S So dark the fate of me.
I'l probably have time for it during the summit and I suggest we all
take some time and fix most of the bugs before next week. That would
be really excellent !
I will do my best to find a spare hour here and there!
Cheers,
Mikkel
