[Deskbar] Composite effects in deskbar?

There has been some composite/gtk/python stuff[1] flying around the planets lately. As GTK 2.10 will have some compositioning support, hence Gnome, and hence pygtk (very likely), the question is now: Should we have über bling in deskbar? Of course we shall not depend on a comp manager, but it looks like it will be easy to handle [1].

I don't have any cool ideas just now, but _you_ might (yes, I'm talking to you)... Please follow up if you have any ideas/suggestions of cool/useful composition tricks for deskbar.
