I don't have ~/.beagle/conf , only have ~/.beagle/config/ directory .
But in ~/.beagle/config/ , I don't have Backends.xml and FilesBackend.xml.
Everytime I delete ~/.beagle completely and run beagle freshly , I can see "File" in "index information" . But in the middle of the searching data , it disppeared.

This is quite strange! It appears as though the Files backend is not
running. And there is no notification message for it either!
I don't know if gentoo disables debug building by default; if not,
then my best bet is to run "beagled --debug" and observe the log at
~/.beagle/Log/current-Beagle
But this is really strange. Could you also verify
~/.beagle/conf/Backends.xml and ~/.beagle/conf/FilesBackend.xml (I am
writing the names from memory) has the filesbackend really really
enabled ?
