Pidgin Filters

Is there a reason that the filters for Pidgin logs don't make the names of the users talking searchable in any form? If html logging is turned on, it seems the filters make the names completely unsearchable. Is the a reason there aren't fields for which accounts a conversation is between, and the filters make it impossible to search for?
