Really?? Exception files larger than 10k indicate serious problems?
Currently, I have 3 BeagleException files. Their sizes are: 921.3KB,
1.0MB and 1.6MB.

Totally off the top of my head here, but I think *any* BeagleException file indicates some runtime problem, and potentially a bug. An IndexHelperException file is a little more common and usually indicates that an individual file couldn't be filtered and fully indexed. Those I wouldn't worry so much about unless they were pretty big.
