Re: Wrong date and a search suggestion

hi again,

i have to digg deeper. i just searched again for the mentioned terms, and guess what, beagle didn't find them again.
can you tell me how this can happen?

any hint?

Hi joe,

thanks for your hint with artist. of course now it even works without putting artist before the artist. don't know why, hmm.

as i wrote this mail i could imagine, that it can be a problem because of performance to check the complete path, since this increases search results a lot.

nevertheless not a big problem at all. but my problem with dates is a problem. i forgot to tell that i had the feeling this also happens with gaim logs?!

ID3 tags are already indexed and searched, so searching for a specific
artist I think should already work. (It may be necessary to do
"artist:foo" rather than just "foo"; if so we should probably fix that.)

hope you get my point. i would like to suggest a feature like adding extended search, in which one could define that the search term should be applied against the whole file path. as i didn't find this in beagle (maybe i'm blind ;)) i think this would improve possibility to find stuff on one's computer.
We don't do this right now because it's basically impossible to do it
accurately without ruining performance.

My hope is that we'll be able to do this more reasonably once we have a
separate metadata store.
