Right now you need to patch evolution-sharp to support the updated
version. See http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329273 for a
patch that should work.

That's correct. The Evolution mail backend doesn't use e-d-s. It
parses Evo's mail files directly off the disk. (There is no e-d-s
access to Evo mail.)
