Yes. I didn't include the gentoo-specific versioning in my first email.

I don't have libedataserver-1.2.so.4 either but beagle is indexing my
mails correctly. Why don't you run revdep-rebuild ?

My emails are being indexed as well, but I think that the evolution mail backend is separate from the e-d-s backend. It's my contacts that aren't being indexed. I already ran revdep-rebuild but it didn't fix this problem -- it doesn't even detect the incorrect linkage.
