help - Support for DVD-RAM!?

Hallo Burning-Boys & Girls,

I'd like to apply my DVD-RAM discs for long-time-storage 
(Langzeitarchivierung) and testing new images of e.g. 
GNU/Linux-Distributions.
But with "Brasero" isn't possible to burn or erase DVD-RAM 
discs (Ubuntu8.04LTS, Brasero 0.7.1).

How you are see this situation?
Does somebody of you use DVD-RAM?
