hm, are there 2.8 specific changes you are referring to?
i've added the mime types to the desktop.in file now.
however, the /usr/share/mime-info/ *.mime and *.keys files
don't seem to work for me anyways (every mime type defined
therein is not recognized by nautilus on a recent debian),
and without working mime type detection for bse/bsewave files,
adding the entries in the .desktop files is of doubtfull use.
