I think you mean scrobble. This is a term last.fm uses to mean the processes of recording the track information of the music that you play on their site. By knowing what you listen to, they can make recommendations for artists that you might like.

I am translating Banshee's master documentation and I am blocked by the 'scrubble' term. This word is often used for game and commercial names, but I can't find it in all american-english on-line dictionaries I consulted. I don't understand what it means.
Please help me. Can you give some equivalents for it?
