Hi, assigned the following commands to my keyboard:
--play Start playback
--pause Pause playback
--toggle-playing Toggle playback
It's working, but there's a 1.5-2 second delay betweeen pressing a button
and action, this doesn't happen using the GUI.
Any ideas on how get a faster response time?
I'm using banshee 2.6, linux mint 15 with xfce 4.10.
I'm guessing you're doign the equivalent of running "banshee --play"
in a terminal.
If that's the case, you might be interested in the following comment

It gives some details about what happen when you run "banshee --something".
As suggested, you can try to use the dbus-send or gdbus command line
tools, to see if it helps.
