Hi,
Connecting a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Gingerbread 2.3.6 to oneiric and
banshee 2.2.1. I can transfer audio files and mp4 video files to the
device without a problem but I can't transfer wmv files, avi files or
mpg files. I get the error: Device does not support these formats and no
converter found. But my device does support these formats. I also cannot
transfer .mov files - my device does not support hardware decoding of
this format but I was hoping Banshee would transcode on the fly like it
transcodes wav to ogg on the fly.
I've tried adding my own is_audio_player file to the device, and I've
tried editing the appropriate .mpi file in /usr/share/media-player-info/
without success... I've tried using miro to transfer the files after
recompiling ffmpeg (as described at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=786095) and it does so but it
seems quite inflexible in that it converts all files to a single format
for audio and another for video. The interface is also not very nice and
banshee has better features.
Has anybody found a solution to this problem or is it a bug? Is it
possible to tell banshee to use ffmpeg?
Regards,
visual1ce
