Shameless plug:  I have a prealpha project that I works to control banshee via the dbus.  But be warned, it only mostly works and its written with a much bigger goal in mind.
Also i'm in the middle of switching from sql direct calls to json calls.  The android app uses json, the c app still uses sql, and I havnt released the json backend

But if your a coder, im sure you can hack something together
