Currently we have no update mechanism on OS X. The best option would
be to get Banshee into the App Store but that would require a lot of
work. E.g. from November all applications in there must sandbox
themselves and there are a number of other requirements. I would love
to see Banshee in there but I have no idea where to even start, I fear
it would require some reworking of Banshee itself.

On OS X the state is right now best described as runs unless you poke
it with a cursor. There is a lot of work left to do. So anyone with
more knowledge of OS X than me (who has only recently gotten his first
Mac) would be more than welsome to comment and contribute. I haven't
even figured out the Mac equaliant to running banshee --debug yet, it
is such as a backwards system coming from a decade on Linux.
