[Banshee-List] How was my banshee broken?

I assume my banshee was broken somewhere along the way as it won't keep
playing music.
instead it lets my computer go of into sleep / hibernation mode
i'm happy for the screen to go off but not the system! 
what's wrong?
does anyone know?
