Have you tried to import your music database manually?

1. Switch off the library watcher.

2. To get a clean new database close Banshee and delete the old database:
~/.config/banshee-1/banshee.db

3. Import the music: Media->Import Media or press <Ctrl>+

If you have an active internet connection then banshee will fetch cover art
and lyrics if available. Cover art and lyrics extension must be activated. 
Fetching may take a while (many hours if you have a few thousand files ore
more). You can speed up importing if you fetch lyrics and cover art later.
