I installed banshee 2  in linux mint 10 this way:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:banshee-team/banshee-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install banshee
After that reboot your system, then you can launch Banshee 2 from the
applications menu.
