Ah!  I installed "banshee-1-dmp-apple-devices-1.7.5-10.1" and made sure
"Apple device support" (which now appears) is checked under "Extensions"
and that "iPod Support" is unchecked.  Don't have the iPod with me at
the moment but I'll try if the first chance I get.
