[Banshee-List] 1.7.5 and iPod nano 5th gen

I've annoyed my 10-year-old son, who just bought his cousin's 5th-gen
ipod nano, by trying to get it working with banshee, rhythmbox or gtkpod
and ended up wiping off all the music that was already on it, and being
unable to put more music on. 

I ended up installing 1.7.5 from the tarball on my fedora 13 laptop, and
it recognized the device as a 5th-gen nano. When I tried adding a dozen
or so songs to the device, it went through the motions of transferring
the songs, converting the oggs to mp3, etc. I ejected the device, and it
showed the songs in the menus. 

When I tried to play the songs, however, nothing played. Mounting the
device again, I found no trace of the songs. So banshee seems to be
populating the itunes database on the nano, but the songs are not
actually being copied to it.
