[Banshee-List] Banshee won't open, unless gksudo

Hello - please help.

For some reason, Banshee no longer opens on my system, unless i run gksudo
banshee.

I'm using Lucid 64-bit. The problem has occurred since Banshee 1.6, and not
been solved by more recent updates. 

When running banshee in terminal, I get the following:
