If it is of any help to you, I have noticed two similar behaviors with my
installation of Banshee. I am running the latest Git Master on an Ubuntu
Karmic machine, and have had a problem with Banshee launching anytime I am
doing anything in the terminal that references it. For instance, If I am
downloading the latest Git Master, or installing it, Banshee launches. If I
am installing a new build of a plugin (such as the Lyric Plugin), Banshee
launches. If I close Banshee it opens right back up. I have also noticed
that occasionally, when I start Banshee - two instances of the application
will open simultaneously. Everything works fine. It is more of an annoyance
than anything else.
