Re: [Banshee-List] Import iPod to Banshee....the first time?

Oh boy.....how in the world do I get the information you suggest below?

If you were compiling from source (which by the sounds of it you are)
you should look at the output at the end of the "autogen" step. That
will tell you if the appledevice extension is enabled or not and it
should also tell you why it's not enabled (if it's not enabled). Join
the irc channel for extra help, or attach your config.log which is
created during the autogen process. You could also try looking through
that to see what dependency you were missing which caused appledevice
to not be enabled.

The only ipod Device Support extension I have is called iPod Support
(Support for most iPod services).
I also have Karma support, Mass Storage Media Player Support and MTP Media
Player support.

I don't see Apple Device Support.

Any ideas what to do?

Open the preferences dialog and look in the "Extensions" tab for an
extension called "Apple Device Support". If that's there, you have the
libgpod based extension. If you have any other ipod extensions (i.e.
the podsleuth one), you should disable it here to guarantee that the
appledevice one is used, though it should take precedence anyway.

Jensen, one of those bugs seems to be related by the fact that you're
still using the iPod (not the AppleDevice) extension.

Can you make sure we're on the same page here?

Alan, I'm not very smart and have never used git or have any idea how

assume you wrote....congratulations and thank you)

Is there any direction on how to install the aforementioned GIT into
Banshee?

Thanks
Basic instructions can be found at
http://banshee.fm/download/development/.

Though, I must point out that I'm personally affected by 2 bugs with
respect to the new iPod implementation:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626953 and
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626923. For me it's
unusable at the moment so you might want to keep an eye out on those
bugs. When using Banshee 1.7.4 (using the old implementation)
everything is still working for me.

I just installed the mentioned at the link-

http://banshee.fm/download/development/

My system is Ubuntu 10.04 so I assume that whatever is necessary for the
Apple Device extension was installed. How do I verify that the Apple
Device
extension is indeed installed on my machine?
