Open the preferences dialog and look in the "Extensions" tab for an
extension called "Apple Device Support". If that's there, you have the
libgpod based extension. If you have any other ipod extensions (i.e.
the podsleuth one), you should disable it here to guarantee that the
appledevice one is used, though it should take precedence anyway.
