I agree with this completely.  I've made a similar observation in the
past.  Even content-free tags whose presence is significant.  For
example, I could tag songs with profanity with "content-profanity"
then filter those out with a smart playlist when my parents are
around.  Or do some other fun boolean searches.

This has been filed in GNOME's Bugzilla: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487281. Feel free to CC yourself on any updates or to notify anyone if you're able to work on this.

It looks this this bug is primarily concerned with traditional id3 tags (artist, track, genre, etc.) and allowing/recognizing multiple instances of an id3 tag embedded in a song file. It's a pretty narrow scope, and doesn't really have much to do at this point with my suggestion. I envision my tags as being stored in the banshee database (or some other metadata store), not embedded in the songs themselves. It seems to me that a solution for my suggestion would look very different to a solution to the referenced bug.
