Rather than a switch, I'd suggest that the *ideal* behaviour would be: Use album gain when: a) The previous track played was from the same album or b) The next track to be played will be from the same album and use track gain otherwise. That would require some quite messy core changes, I think. Maybe a switch is sufficient :)
