Hi there,
I use Fedora 11, QT 4.5.1, and KDE 4.2.3
So I attach an image to this post, which is a screenshot of my KDE4.2 system
tray.
http://www.nabble.com/file/p23861259/banshee_icon.png banshee_icon.png
As you can see, it contains a number of applications, but the banshee icon
is not transparent round the edges like all the other applications. It is a
mixture of KDE (QT) based apps (Skype, Akregater etc..) but also Gnome (GTK)
based apps - gnome-volume-control-applet , bluetooth-applet.
Only the Banshee icon is not transparent There was a long standing bug in
the KDE bug database: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158094
KDE-Bug-158094 which was resolved, and is upstream since the update of QT
to 4.5.0.
My thoughts are that it cannot be a GTK specific error, because
gnome-volume-control-applet looks fine, as does the bluetooth-applet.
It does make the system tray look a little ugly.
I am using kwin for desktop effects, and the nvidia driver.
What can I (and others) do to resolve this, and make the edges of the icon
transparent?
thanks.
Rob
