'Unstable' does not necessarily mean that it's going to explode your system and crash all the time. It's just a way of designating that this build is not the final product, so don't be surprised if you do come across a bug. It's an interim build which fixes bugs reported in the previous stable release and may contain new features aswell.

By releasing these unstable releases, interested people who are hit by bugs in the last stable release can easily check to see if the bug has been fixed before the next stable release is created. Without unstable releases, this would not be easily possible. Not everyone has the time/inclination/capability to compile from SVN.

So, if you *are* hit by a bug and want a fix before the next stable release is made, or want preview access to the latest and greatest features, unstable builds are for you. Otherwise, stick with the stable.

Bertrand,  If they are unstable, whats the point in suggesting I should use
them?
