[Banshee-List] Anyway to lock an ipod to stop itunes from mangling db?

Does anyone know if there's a way to lock an ipod database file? While
banshee works fine reading and writing to my ipod, whenever my wife
takes it to work and accidentally loads itunes, the database gets all
mangled. Lots of things like coverart, compilations, even artist listing
order(?) get confused.

So I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to manually lock down an ipod.
Does setting the database file to read only have any effect? I don't
mind having to manually re-unlock the ipod when I want to update it --
I'm just sick of itunes messing with it!!
