Re: [Banshee-List] Install Banshee 1.2 on Novell SLED 10.2

The Banshee 1.x series does not run on SLED 10. This mainly due to outdated Mono, Cairo, and SQLite packages. (SLED 10 core is nearly 3 years old, almost as old as Banshee itself).

I recommend using openSUSE 11.0, which ships with Banshee 1.0 out of the box, and can easily be upgraded to 1.2 or 1.3.x preview releases.

SLED 11 and openSUSE 11.1 will ship with Banshee 1.4 out of the box, and will be able to run many future Banshee releases. We support three iterations of the openSUSE cycle: the current development series, and the previous two released series. For instance, right now we are tracking 11.1 development and support 11.0 and 10.3. Will likely drop 10.3 support when 11.1 is released (provided there's a compelling reason to do).
