So, I finally tested to play a video with gst-launch and it perfectly works, no freeze, consistent frame rate.
So, I did again the same test with Banshee 1.0 and it works !! I don't really understand why because I didn't do anything special. But, the kernel was upgraded yesterday and I guess the fix should come from this fresh kernel.
Any plan to add DVD playback to Bashee ? If yes, I would be able to give up Totem and use Banshe for all the multimedia stuff.

I was on the help Wiki yesterday and found
there is a documented conflict with Firestarter causing the slow down of your
vidio. Are you using a NVidia card? It wouldn't surprise me there
should be a fix for this soon.
