No, not "soon." It's a goal, though incredibly low in priority. I am
warming up to the idea of Mono.Media, but I think it's a project that
needs to wait 6-8 months or something. We clearly have more important
things to be doing in Banshee land.

Even then, all we'd probably do to start is move libbanshee into
Mono.Media anyway. To really make it go away we need to finish
GStreamer#, and I have no idea when that'll happen. I'd rather not think
about any of it right now.
