Banshee 0.11.1 is in 6.10 / Edgy, I can't even remember what version would be in Dapper / 6.06.
Did you sudo apt-get build-dep banshee before you started?
Also, since you're running Dapper, you may want to try the repository listed on the Banshee wiki at:
http://www.banshee-project.org/Distributions/Ubuntu--Paul

Isn't banshee packaged in Ubuntu? Why do You want to build from source?
If there actually is a reason - You need the -dev packages installed
(i.e. libglib-dev or so).
